Kraljeva Sutjeska/Bobovac Tour

By arriving in Kraljeva Sutjeska, you will feel like you’ve traveled back in time to the days of Bosnian kings. Kraljeva Sutjeska and the Bobovac fortress were the seats of two Bosnian kings, Tomaš and Tvrtko, from the Kotromanić dynasty. This historical fortress is significant as it housed the Bosnian royal crown and the royal grave chapel, believed to be redesigned by King Stjepan Ostoja.

Three Bosnian kings are buried here: Stjepan Ostoja, Tvrtko II Kotromanić, and Stjepan Tomaš Kotromanić. The only fully preserved structure in Bobovac is the mausoleum built by Queen Katarina for King Tvrtko after his death, although his remains were relocated during the last war. In honor of the last Bosnian Queen, St. Catherine, women in traditional costumes wear black scarves as a sign of grief.

We recommend bringing a bottle of water, wearing comfortable shoes for light hiking, and being prepared for a brief history lesson. After a 2-hour drive, you will reach Kraljeva Sutjeska and the medieval town of Bobovac. Join us for a journey that will captivate you with its history and beauty.
